What Is Semaglutide?
It is an FDA-approved medication for type 2 diabetes and as a GLP-1 receptor agonist, stimulates insulin production and suppresses glucagon secretion. Agonists are a class of medication that has been used since 2005, introducing extra insulin into the body to promote better sugar metabolism, better eating hormone management and weight loss.
